One of the feel-good stories for the Los Angeles Lakers this season has been talented rookie guard Quincy Olivari making a name for himself and becoming a fan favorite among the avid fans of the storied franchise.
Although the two-way player has found it challenging to get the call from the Lakers to help the top squad as he’s spent time in the G League with the South Bay Lakers, Olivari seems to have made quite an impression on his childhood hero, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors.
After facing Curry in the preseason and realizing a dream to share the court with his idol, Olivari had an emotional moment in his postgame press conference following his 22-point performance against the Warriors.
Olivari got the opportunity to meet Curry and share his admiration for the future Hall of Famer face-to-face, which seems to have convinced the four-time NBA champion to sign him to a shoe deal with his company, Curry Brand, according to Shams Charania of ESPN via Bleacher Report.

Even though Olivari would certainly like to spend more time on the basketball floor while rocking a Lakers jersey, the rookie guard is likely on cloud nine at the moment after this recent development.
Hopefully, the rookie can get a chance to showcase his skills on the NBA level during the regular season, as the Lakers could use a boost offensively, especially with the team really struggling as of late, but it remains to be seen when the young guard will get that call.
