Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Lakers suffered back-to-back blowout losses to the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat on the road, with the team showing about as little effort on defense as possible, which has led a lot of people to believe that new head coach JJ Redick might be losing the locker room.
These poor performances, especially defensively, started when Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets crushed the Lakers in Los Angeles recently, which carried over to the same effort against the Phoenix Suns and now against the Timberwolves and Heat.
It seems to be getting progressively worse for the Lakers, as they were once riding a six-game winning streak and now can’t seem to come close to resembling the team that got off to such a promising start to the 2024-25 NBA regular season.
Rob Parker of FOX Sports made a point of it to call out Redick for his team’s poor effort, claiming the former NBA player leads the league in the “embarrassment” category via FOX Sports Radio.
“How many times do you have to say, ‘We’re embarrassed?’ JJ Redick leads the league in embarrassment,” Parker said.

On Friday night, the Lakers will attempt to bounce back as they continue their road trip against Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks, who are riding a five-game win streak and seem to be figuring things out.
Things have gotten so bad for the Lakers that they will head into this game in Atlanta as a five-point underdog, which is pretty telling.
