LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers is 37 years old and will be turning 38 in just a few weeks.
He is playing his 20th season in the NBA and is still averaging 26.2 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 6.3 assists on 47% from the field.
Despite his age, he is still undeniably one of the top two players on his team and one of the best currently in the league.
He has had his ups and downs – more than usual, in fact – but he’s still a stellar athlete and has proven he’s one of the greatest of all time.
But how much longer can he play?
In an interview that came out today, Dennis Schröder said LeBron told him he wants to play 5-7 more years and retire at 45. pic.twitter.com/LJwSabGKhc

According to his teammate Dennis Schroder, a lot longer.
In an interview, the German star said that James told him he wants to play for 5 to 7 more years and retire at the age of 45.
If that rumor was made about anyone else, it would have been laughed off.
But the thought of James playing until he’s 45 years old isn’t that wild when you look at how he has already battled Father Time again and again throughout his career.
LeBron Over The Hill
What would James in his 40s look like?
There is no doubt he would still be explosive and a great player but there is no way he’d be able to produce the sort of points that he is now.
Right?
He has surprised and overperformed so many times before so who is to say he couldn’t still be starting games as he approaches 45?
But would he still be playing in LA?
His latest contract extension only has him there for a few more years, meaning he could potentially switch to another team before he retires.
Maybe he could be traded to the franchise that drafts his son, Bronny.
All of this speculation – but none of it sounds too far-fetched.
