It is too soon to tell but Kristaps Porzingis of the Washington Wizards might be performing like his old self again.
We have heard this song before: Porzginis looks healthy and tuned into his team and playing as he used to when he first broke out with the New York Knicks.
Sadly, these periods of greatness haven’t lasted and they have become few and far between.
The season just started and Porzingis was trying to make an impression on opening night.

In a game against the Indiana Pacers, Porzingis put up 15 points and 10 rebounds.
One moment was particularly impressive: Porzingis had an across-court assist that had to be seen to be believed.
This is when the Latvian player is at his best: when he isn’t focused solely on dunks and blocks but also using his size to help his team in other ways.
Still, the Wizards are going to have a bumpy year ahead.
Porzingis Playing Well
When Porzingis first came onto the scene in the NBA, he was seen as a special kind of “unicorn” who could block and shoot.
He is a 7-foot-3 center but can sometimes score like a guard or small forward.
You don’t see that sort of player every day.
The problem is that Porzingis was often slowed by repeated injuries.
He didn’t have too much luck when playing for the Dallas Mavericks and is now hoping to rebound in a big way with the Wizards.
Of course, the Wizards are one of the worst teams in the East and their chances of blasting into the postseason are slim.
But you never know, there are always one or two teams who surprise the rest of the league.
Maybe Porzingis and his ragtag Wizards could be one of those teams.
