The Minnesota Vikings could be in the market for a new quarterback.
The fans and the organization wanted Kirk Cousins to be back in the Twin Cities, but that might not be the case anymore.
According to a report by Dianna Russini of The Athletic, Cousins has informed the Vikings about his decision to test free agency.
Kirk Cousins will hit free agency and begin discussions with Atlanta as soon as the tampering window opens in 90 minutes, per sources.

She adds that he’s going to be in talks with the Atlanta Falcons as soon as the tampering window opens later on Monday.
Cousins is coming off a season-ending injury and might not be ready to play when the season starts.
He’s 35 years old and has a long history of shortcomings, but he’s perhaps the best quarterback available on the market right now.
The Vikings would most likely have to overpay for an aging quarterback, and while that could give them their best chance to compete at a high level next season, it might not be in their best interests in the long run, especially considering all the money they will also have to commit to Justin Jefferson.
As for the Falcons, they believe they can compete right now, and they’ve stacked plenty of talent on offense, so they might be willing to spend big bucks on the veteran.
That would leave Justin Fields as a feasible and realistic option for Kevin O’Connell’s team.
Then again, the fact that Cousins will test the market doesn’t necessarily mean he’s not going to be back in Minnesota, but that’ll depend on how badly they want to keep him as well.
