It’s going to be a very long summer for the Sacramento Kings.
Their season came to an end on Wednesday night as the Dallas Mavericks easily beat them in the Play-In Tournament.
The Kings have a lot of work to do now, and they got right to it after the game.
According to Shams Charania, the Kings and general manager Monte McNair are “mutually parting ways.”
McNair was with the Kings for five seasons and not all of them were bad, but the road has come to an end for him.

This was a big move, even if it wasn’t an unexpected one.
It may also be a sign that this summer will be very busy for the Kings, and there could be a ton of changes.
McNair likely won’t be the only one leaving Sacramento, although some reports have said that head coach Doug Christie’s job is safe.
But there may be some big-name stars who leave the team because the Kings are not satisfied with where they are.
Just a few years ago, they were the talk of the NBA, and it looked like a bright new chapter for the team was beginning.
Things got rocky last year and then even worse this season, and they will end 2024-25 as the 10th seed in the West, once again out of the playoffs.
They were outside of the playoffs for far too long, and they don’t want another drought to begin now.
Therefore, the team will get to work finding a new general manager who will bring in new talent and get the team on the right path again.
