The Sacramento Kings’ season could end on Wednesday, or they could live to see another day.
It all comes down to the high-stakes Play-In Tournament, which is not where they wanted to be.
No matter what happens on Wednesday, the Kings have some big choices to make this summer.
Writing on X, Jake Weinbach said that “Domantas Sabonis is another name to closely monitor on the trade market” in the coming months.
“The Kings have some key decisions to make regarding its core, especially if they fall short of the playoffs for a second consecutive year,” Weinbach wrote.

Fans had high hopes for the Kings at the start of the season.
It wasn’t too long ago that they were one of the most exciting teams in their conference, but things fell apart last season.
Fans wanted the Kings to bounce back in a big way in 2024-25, but it wasn’t meant to be.
Instead, they consistently struggled, lost a major star, and fired their head coach.
Even with an injection of new talent, the Kings are still having a hard time finding their footing, which means they could do something drastic in the offseason.
Sabonis averaged 19.1 points and 13.9 rebounds this year, his third season in a row with a double-double.
If the Kings decide it is time to move on from Sabonis, they will surely get a lot in return for him.
It would be the end of an era, but the Kings have been changing a lot over the last few months, so now might be the time to turn a page and start a new chapter for the franchise.
Kings fans will be nervously watching the game on Wednesday, but no matter what happens, they will be intently monitoring their team in the summer.
