The Minnesota Vikings lost to the Philadelphia Eagles during Thursday Night Football, bringing their record to 0-2.
Many aspects of this game fell the Eagles’ way which ultimately led to their victory.
While the Vikings may have lost this game, their head coach was quick to defend Kirk Cousins.
According to Kevin O’Connell via Clayton Holloway, “Kirk Cousins played absolutely well enough for us to win the football game.”

Cousins’ stat line at the end of the game was 31-44, throwing for 364 yards and four touchdown passes.
He also did not throw an interception, and his only turnover was a fumble that was forced by the Eagles’ defensive line.
Besides the fumble, many believed Cousins played extremely well throughout the game, including his head coach.
The conversation about Cousins in national sports media is that he can’t win primetime games and that he does not possess the “clutch” gene.
However, there is more than meets the eye in this conversation, as Cousins is not a one-man show.
The Vikings’ defense has continued to allow lots of points and were among the league leaders in points allowed last season.
Regardless of their performance, however, losses are typically blamed on the quarterback.
While Cousins might have played well, at the end of the day, this is another primetime loss attributed to his career record.
If the Vikings continue on this trajectory, it might be difficult for Cousins to retain his job in this offense next year.
They now shift their attention to the Los Angeles Chargers, hoping they can finally win a game.
