Team USA couldn’t make the most of their NBA talents to bring back home a medal from the FIBA Basketball World Cup.
The team, which was full of young and unproven players, drew plenty of criticism from day one, and the roster seemed kind of flawed.
That’s why some of the biggest names in the game have reportedly taken it upon themselves to be at their best for the national team ahead of the upcoming Olympics.
With that in mind, Boston Celtics legends Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce debated who should be some of the players who represent the nation in the summer festivities.
Unsurprisingly, they chose LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant right from the top of their heads, and things got a little trickier later, as shared in the following video.
Pierce and Garnett chose Devin Booker, and as no surprise, they also gave the nod to fellow Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.
For the big men, they chose Bam Adebayo because he won’t have a problem coming off the bench or just doing the dirty job if need be.
Obviously, he’d be joined by Anthony Davis, and when Garnett asked Pierce to include someone else, he leaned with Jaren Jackson Jr., even despite his struggles in the World Cup.
They also chose Jimmy Butler and Damian Lillard, and things got more complicated when they had to pick someone for the final spot, with the likes of Zion Williamson, Brandon Ingram, Anthony Edwards, and even Ja Morant drawing consideration from the Hall of Famers.
