For that to happen, they still need to win at least two more games or hope the Buffalo Bills lose another one.
Patrick Mahomes doesn’t want to sit on Saturday vs. the Houston Texans.
Then again, a fellow elite athlete like Kevin Durant doesn’t think that’s the right approach.
Talking to Kay Adams for her “Up & Adams” Show, the Phoenix Suns superstar said the Chiefs needed to consider the bigger picture.
While he admitted that he would definitely play through the injury, he thinks coach Andy Reid and the Chiefs must protect him from himself.

Durant is right on point there.
The Chiefs play on Saturday and then again on Wednesday.
Mahomes has participated fully in back-to-back practices and has been very healthy and durable throughout his career.
Still, you don’t want to risk your health when the playoffs are just around the corner, even if that means not getting the No. 1 seed.
The Chiefs are striving to become the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls, and they need Mahomes out there to do so.
He might hate the sole thought of it and will most definitely resent it, but the Chiefs might want to keep Mahomes safe from the Houston Texans’ tough pass rush.
