Kobe Bryant’s career with the Los Angeles Lakers was full of legendary and iconic moments.
But if people had to choose just one, chances are most would talk about his 81-point masterpiece vs. the Toronto Raptors.
That includes former NBA star Kenyon Martin, who happened to be watching the game on TV because his team was set to face the Raptors next.
In the latest edition of Paul George’s “Podcast P” show, Martin talked about how he was teasing the Raptors about how they let Kobe go off for 81 points, which is the second-highest scoring game in NBA history.
"Y'all didn't play no D? Y'all couldn't do nothing? They were hot!"

And, just like George says in the clip, the craziest part about that game is that Kobe was in the midst of one of the most dominant scoring stretches in the history of the game, so no one was shocked by the fact that he was actually able to pull that off.
Kobe was a relentless scorer and one of the most competitive people to ever grace the face of the Earth, so it was only natural that he single-handedly led his team to a win, literally outscoring the entire Raptors team in the second half of that historic game.
Today’s fast-paced offense and three-point shooting make it seem like it’s just a matter of time before someone takes down Kobe’s mark, and some believe Wilt Chamberlain’s 100-point record isn’t unbreakable anymore.
Still, until proven otherwise, Kobe’s game vs. the Raptors will go down as the single greatest offensive outing in modern basketball history.
