There is no doubt that the Los Angeles Lakers have been much better over the last few months and have mostly turned their troubled season around.
They are now on the verge of making the playoffs after being written off by just about everyone earlier in the year.
Some people think the sky is the limit for the Lakers.
And one NBA analyst thinks they have a chance to go very far.
Kendrick Perkins was on “First Take” on ESPN and he made a strong statement about the team: “[The Lakers] are going to the Finals this year, on the back of Anthony Davis,” the former player said.

Perkins claimed that the recent injury of LeBron James was a blessing in disguise and it forced head coach Darvin Ham to run the offense through Davis a lot more.
Since James was hurt, Davis has come back to life and has been putting up MVP-caliber numbers.
But Perkins also praised other players on the team, such as D’Angelo Russell, Jarred Vanderbilt, Austin Reaves, and of course, James himself.
Perkins believes that this team, with their powerful players and their high defensive rating, has what it takes to go all the way.
While few people have made such bold proclamations about the Lakers, there are many who are starting to get quite excited about this squad and its potential.
Fans are cautiously joyous right now and believe that the Lakers could have a very strong and impressive postseason push.
Of course, they have to make it there first.
They are still the seventh team in their conference, meaning they will need to fight through the play-in games before they can make the playoffs.
But they have two more games to rise higher in the rankings and continue their comeback.
