The Seattle Mariners have been an interesting team to watch over the past several years.
Last season, they finally broke the 21-year postseason drought that had haunted the team.
This year, they find themselves right back in the thick of the playoff race.
One player in particular who has been performing quite well is outfielder Jarred Kelenic.
Kelenic was acquired from the New York Mets in exchange for Robinson Cano and Edwin Diaz back in 2018.
His strong performance this season has caught the attention of Mariners legend Ken Griffey Jr.
On Wednesday, the Hall-of-Fame outfielder and slugger discussed what he has been seeing out of Kelenic and how he has made some drastic improvements.
"He's out there playing baseball the way he knows how to play."

Griffey said that he believes Kelenic is more relaxed this season than he was in 2022.
He discussed how in 2022, the young outfielder was swinging at a lot of pitches that were out of the strike zone, which is something he appears to have nipped in the bud in 2023.
The Hall-of-Famer also took note of the fact that Kelenic has improved at hitting to all fields.
Griffey even said that in 2022, it looked as if Kelenic was pressing too hard and felt too much pressure to try and live up to the hype and what people around the league are expecting from him.
Griffey says that he hasn’t noticed that this year and that the former top prospect as simply going out and playing the game the way he knows how to and that this approach has worked for him.
