The Charlotte Hornets had grown tired of the social media antics of Kai Jones and ultimately released him.
The Bahamas native made some controversial and questionable videos on Instagram, and his behavior on social media made people think that he was going through something.
The team didn’t want him to be a distraction, so they didn’t hesitate to cut ties with him.
Now, NBA insider Jake Fischer (via NBA Central) announces that the Los Angeles Clippers are considering signing him, and that actually makes a lot of sense.

Assuming Jones’ mental health is just fine, he could be a massive pickup for Tyronn Lue’s team.
Of course, he’s never been an All-Star, and that seems off of the table right now, but he’s just the kind of player they desperately crave right now.
The Clippers are giving up a lot of size and are getting manhandled on both sides of the glass.
Ivica Zubac is a solid big, but he’s not a bruiser, and he often gets bullied by more physical centers.
Needless to say, they also have plenty of things to figure out with their new core.
But as much as their success could come from James Harden, adding more depth to the C position could also do wonders for this team.
