Herbert has been a part of many close games as a member of the Chargers and has unfortunately lost many of those close games as well.
It's hard to win games in the NFL.

In his two-and-a-half NFL seasons, Herbert’s record as a starting quarterback is 21-23.
In this time, only Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons and Indianapolis Colts has lost more contests.
Herbert’s Personal Growth In The League
Herbert started his career on a high note, winning Rookie of the Year in 2020.
His growth has only vaulted since then, as demonstrated by his statistics thus far in his career.
Through 44 total games, Herbert has thrown for 12,689 yards, completed 66.3 percent of his passes, and added 89 touchdowns and 32 interceptions.
Although he is more known for his powerful arm than his legs, Herbert has still rushed for 671 yards, adding eight touchdowns to his overall total as well.
The 2020 draft had four quarterbacks taken in the first round.
While Love is not yet a full-time starter in the league, all three of Burrow, Tagovailoa and Herbert have played well in their NFL careers thus far.
Among these full-time starters, Herbert leads the trio in touchdown passes, but also leads them in interceptions.
These three will be grouped for the rest of their NFL careers.
When all is said and done, which quarterback will end with the greatest NFL accolades?
