The New York Jets are still in the process of looking for their next head coach.
According to insider Jordan Schultz, the team is still in the interview phase and will interview Minnesota Vikings quarterback coach Josh McCown for the head coaching position.
This move would be interesting, seeing as McCown is still a position coach and not a coordinator yet.

If the Jets wanted to bring in an offensive mind, McCown could be the smartest one of the bunch.
He proved to be a good coach by helping quarterback Sam Darnold reinvigorate his career in Minnesota this year.
McCown also played a long time in the league.
The 45-year-old played 18 seasons in the league and spent time with 12 different franchises after being drafted in the third round by the Arizona Cardinals in 2002 out of Sam Houston State.
Throughout his long career, he was predominantly a backup.
Coincidentally, his best statistical season came with the New York Jets in 2017, when he threw for 2,926 yards, 18 touchdown passes, and nine interceptions and completed 67.3% of his passes.
It would be fascinating if the Jets decided to hire him later, especially given the Aaron Rodgers dynamic.
Would McCown want to roll with Rodgers or start fresh with a quarterback he can coach?
He would have to ask himself that, but the real question might be whether or not he is confident enough to take that step up from being a position coach to a head coach.
