The New York Jets are in the process of looking for a new head coach while also trying to decide if they want to keep future Hall of Fame quarterback Aaron Rodgers around for another year.
Rodgers’s old coach, Mike McCarthy, is now looking for a new gig after the Dallas Cowboys decided not to bring him back.
Rodgers himself was asked on “The Pat McAfee Show” about McCarthy being available as a potential head-coaching candidate this offseason.
“Hell of a ball coach. What he did this year with the amount of injuries that (Dallas) had I thought was amazing. Hearing the guys talk about him, I wasn’t surprised because anybody that has played for Mike and gets to know him a little bit and gets to feel that great, big heart that he’s got, it’s special,” Rodgers said.

It would be interesting if the Jets decided to make the move to bring in McCarthy for an interview.
The longtime head coach is best known for the run that he went on with the Green Bay Packers from 2006-2018.
He guided the Green Bay Packers to their last Super Bowl victory during the 2010 season and brought plenty of success to the organization.
Rodgers won two MVPs under McCarthy’s leadership on offense, and he also helped the Packers draft current Jets star wide receiver Davante Adams.
While with the Cowboys more recently, McCarthy guided the team to three 12-win seasons in the last four years.
Time will tell whether or not New York decides to give him more of a look after hearing Rodgers’ comments on his old coach.
