Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor had a season to remember in 2021.
If Cooper Kupp won the Triple Crown for wide receivers, Taylor did the same for running backs after having the most rushing yards (1,811), rushing attempts (332), and touchdowns (18) last season.
He also added two receiving touchdowns for 360 yards.
Unfortunately, the Colts fell short of the playoffs wherein he could have displayed his talent even more.
But despite that shortcoming, it’s difficult to deny Taylor’s path to domination.
What sets him apart from the other running backs is his blistering speed, as the NFL on CBS Twitter account shared.

The post revealed that Taylor had the three fastest plays by a ball-carrying running back last season.
Next Gen Stats measured his speed at 22.83, 22.13, and 22.05 miles per hour on those plays.
No wonder the New England Patriots defense couldn’t keep up with Taylor on that 67-yard touchdown run in the video shared above.
Taylor will be a vital asset to the squad as they try to complete a postseason return.
However, he will be in for a competition for the Triple Crown in 2022 as Derrick Henry returns to full health.
Colts Should Extend Taylor At Once
He has done enough to be worthy of a lucrative contract extension.
Before his stellar 2021 campaign, he had 1,169 yards and 11 touchdowns in his rookie campaign.
Taylor is eligible for a contract extension after the 2022 season wherein he will earn a base salary of over $1.3 million.
He has proven that he’s worth more than that and the Colts should not delay signing him for the long run.
There should be no doubt left within the Colts organization that Taylor is the featured back they have been looking for.
