Joey Votto, much like his team, the Cincinnati Reds, has been off to quite a tough start in 2022.
He is hitting a mere .141 with just five RBI and has posted a less than impressive OPS of .496.
The Reds also own the worst record in baseball at 12-28.
However, Votto may have turned the corner yesterday, hitting a go-ahead home run for the Reds as they managed to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays.
It was first of the year and he got to do it back in his hometown of Toronto.
After the game, Votto had a hilarious response when asked about his home run.

Votto Finally Goes Yard
Votto knows how tough things have been for both himself and the Reds in 2022.
The team hasn’t really accomplished much of anything and has been stuck at the bottom of the NL Central since the beginning of the year.
Votto’s struggles have somewhat contributed to that.
But his response yesterday was hilarious.
It has to feel good for him to finally hit a home run after such a tough stretch.
Votto has always had a good sense of humor, but it’s good to see him still be able to poke fun at himself, even in the midst of his personal struggles and those of the Reds.
A home run on Mars would have been enough for him, but he managed to do it back in his native Toronto, which is something special and something that could prove to be a confidence builder for him.
Perhaps soon, Votto will get hot and show us the kind of player he’s been throughout his Major League career.
Maybe the home run was a springboard for a hot streak.
