The Indianapolis Colts may have stumbled upon their QB1, at least for the season.
With Anthony Richardson missing almost two games with a hip injury, it was Joe Flacco’s turn to answer the call once again.
Just like it happened last season with the Cleveland Browns, Flacco was impressive when called upon.
He led his team to a win over the Pittsburgh Steelers and almost beat the Jacksonville Jaguars in an exciting divisional matchup.
As pointed out by SportsCenter on X, the 39-year-old is currently leading the NFL in passer rating (115.6).

Flacco might not be the same player he was when he won the Super Bowl, and he’s had his fair share of ups and downs throughout the course of his career.
Then again, he’s undeniably better than some of the starting quarterbacks in the league right now.
The Browns didn’t even pick up the phone to call him after he led them to the playoffs.
Some speculate that it had to do with them not wanting to put pressure on Deshaun Watson.
Fast forward to today, and Watson has had a single-digit QBR twice this season, and the Browns are 1-4 after five weeks.
That’s the kind of decision that shows that teams cannot spare effort or expenses when it comes to their backup quarterbacks.
As for Flacco, what seemed to be a finished career is no longer the case, and if he keeps playing this way, perhaps the Colts will look to be a little more patient with their uber-talented and injury-prone prospect.
