The New York Jets should follow the script of their division rivals.

The New England Patriots added DeVante Parker while the Buffalo Bills acquired Jamison Crowder.

Buffalo also signed Stefon Diggs to a four-year, $104 million extension.

Meanwhile, the Miami Dolphins added Cedrick Wilson and Tyreek Hill, who received a four-year, $120 million deal.

As for the Jets, they brought back Braxton Berrios on a two-year, $12 million contract.

It’s not as big of a splash compared to their AFC East foes.

However, there were rumors of possible talks between the Jets and the Seattle Seahawks regarding D.K. Metcalf.

Or so we thought.

There’s “no truth” to the report the #Jets offered the No. 10 pick to the #Seahawks for D.K. Metcalf, per multiple sources.

The Jets are interested in a WR. They’d be interested in Metcalf. But there have been no offer because “(Seattle)’s not accepting offers,” per sources.

The Athletic’s Connor Hughes tweeted, “There’s ‘no truth’ to the report the #Jets offered the No. 10 pick to the #Seahawks for D.K. Metcalf, per multiple sources. The Jets are interested in a WR. They’d be interested in Metcalf. But there have been no offer because ‘(Seattle)’s not accepting offers,’ per sources.”

Will The Seahawks Really Keep Metcalf?

The Seahawks are adamant about holding onto Metcalf and giving him a contract extension.

After all, he’s only one of the few assets they have left, and quarterbacks might be interested in playing with him.

Seattle might also understand that they don’t have a chance to compete for a playoff spot this season.

That gives them an early pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, which is shaping up to be a great one at quarterback.

A young play-caller with Metcalf could be the duo that will bring them back to relevance.

But then again, they also said before that they wouldn’t trade Russell Wilson.

Will there be a repeat with Metcalf, or are they serious about keeping him for the long term?

The Seahawks had more misses than hits during their recent drafts.

Now that they found a gem in Metcalf, they must do everything to retain him.
