It would be an understatement to say that this has been a disappointing season for the San Francisco 49ers and their fans.
Kyle Shanahan’s team was fresh off a trip to the Super Bowl, and given all the talent they had on their roster, they were expected to be a top-three team in the NFC at the very least.
With 12 games already in the books, that hasn’t been the case at all.
They’re currently 5-7 and in fourth place in the NFC West Division, and the playoffs seem more like a dream than a reality.
However, that doesn’t mean they won’t keep fighting.
With that in mind, legendary wide receiver Jerry Rice took to social media to send an inspiring message ahead of Sunday’s clash with the Chicago Bears, urging the players and fans not to give up and keep their heads up (via Our SF 49ers).

Things don’t look good for the Niners right now, but they could still finish the season on a high note and make the playoffs.
They lost two of their best offensive players for the season: first, star wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, and then running back Christian McCaffrey.
OT Trent Williams, TE George Kittle, and WR Deebo Samuel have also struggled with injuries, and even QB Brock Purdy has been forced to miss some time.
Even so, this team has a lot of talent and a great coach, and while it won’t be easy at all, it’s still too early to give up on them.
