To say that this has been a disappointing season for the San Francisco 49ers would be a massive understatement.
The team has suffered injury after injury, Brock Purdy hasn’t looked great, and the playoffs might be a long shot.
So, with all the rumblings about the Chicago Bears potentially being interested in hiring Kyle Shanahan, Colin Cowherd believes that Shanahan should also be interested.
Talking to Danny Parkins for The Volume, the renowned pundit stated that the 49ers should trade the coach to Chicago.

He believes the prospect of being the savior of a huge football market like the Bears is enticing.
On top of that, he called the Niners’ roster “old and brittle.”
With all the uncertainty around Trent Williams, Deebo Samuel, and Purdy, and the injuries to Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk, the Bears look like a better option if you’re a coach.
The Bears have a ton of talent and the most promising quarterback in the entire league.
They would also give him decision-making power.
Of course, this makes sense on paper, especially if you’re Shanahan, but the Niners might not feel tempted.
As tough as this season has been, and as much as injuries have affected their team, they’re still talented enough to try to run it back next season.
The Bears’ head coaching position will be highly coveted, and as good a coach as Shanahan is, they might be able to get someone without giving up assets.
