Things are not looking good for the Dallas Cowboys to open the 2022 season.
They failed to score a touchdown in their Week 1 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Worst yet, quarterback Dak Prescott made an early exit after injuring his thumb.
Surgery was done on that part, and his timetable was initially at six to eight weeks.
However, NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero shared that he could return in four to six weeks, depending on how fast he heals.
Meanwhile, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said in his recent guesting at 105.3 The FAN that Prescott might return earlier than four weeks.
Regardless of the length of his absence, Cowboys fans might find it hard to remain optimistic about their chances this season.
That’s why Jones had a message for their loyal supporters.
Jerry Jones on @1053thefan on his message to Cowboys fans: “It can be looking very dark for you and then it can go positive in an instant. We have a lot of really top football players. We have an outstanding group coaching them up. We got a lot of positive things we can do.”

Cowboys Keeping Their Chin Up
It’s hard to stay positive once a team’s starting quarterback goes down to injury.
Likewise, taking over will be Cooper Rush, who has played only ten games in five seasons.
While the jury is still out on Rush being an able replacement, they will go through a tough stretch by facing the Cincinnati Bengals, New York Giants, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Rams, and Philadelphia Eagles.
Cowboys fans wish that Jones’ words about Prescott’s speedy recovery will come true.
He can still save their postseason hopes if he comes back sooner than later.
