The Los Angeles Clippers and Paul George haven’t been able to agree to a contract extension this season and that has many people wondering what’s ahead for the nine-time All-Star.
If the Clippers and George part ways, at least one team will be eager to sign him.
According to Marc Stein, via Sixersdaily, the Philadelphia 76ers would definitely attempt to sign George if he and the Clippers can’t come to terms.
“League sources say that Philadelphia continues to loom as an eager George suitor should he make it onto the open market and give the 76ers their formal opportunity to try to lure him across the country,” Stein reported.

Most inside reports say that George wants to remain with Los Angeles and that the Clippers wish to sign him.
Additionally, the team should be able to have enough money to give him a new deal.
So, why hasn’t a contract already been drafted and signed by both parties?
That might change in the weeks ahead but the Clippers could be waiting to see how they do in the postseason.
The team is currently the fourth seed in the Western Conference and has a chance of going far in the postseason for the first time in years.
However, if things don’t work out well for the Clippers in the postseason, the front office might have to make some tough choices.
Los Angeles has been on the verge of true greatness for years now and has consistently come up short.
If they do so again this year, they might toy with the idea of making changes to the roster, including saying goodbye to George.
There will be multiple teams vying to land George if his time in LA comes to an end.
The Sixers will try hard but they will face stiff competition since George is still producing 22.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per game.
