For over a month, it looked like the Los Angeles Rams were the final team that quarterback Tom Brady would face in his 22-season NFL career.
That game didn’t end well for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as Matt Gay kicked a walk-off field goal to eliminate the Bucs.
However, after 40 days of retirement, Brady announced that he will be returning to Tampa Bay for his 23rd season.
His commitment for the 2022 season makes the Buccaneers title favorites again, especially after assigning the franchise tag to Chris Godwin and signing Ryan Jensen to a three-year extension.
But while Brady’s return excites the Buccaneers, Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey had a comical reaction.
THANK YOU❕ throw that last touchdown on somebody else 😂 https://t.co/oum3tYbjbl

Ramsey tweeted, “THANK YOU! Throw that last touchdown on somebody else.”
He posted that though in response to Brady’s tweet which said, “These past two months I’ve realized my place is still on the field and not in the stands. That time will come. But it’s not now. I love my teammates, and I love my supportive family. They make it all possible. I’m coming back for my 23rd season in Tampa. Unfinished business LFG.”
The “Final” Brady Touchdown
What was supposed to be Brady’s final touchdown pass happened during the Divisional Weekend wherein the Rams visited the Buccaneers.
It looked like Los Angeles would cruise to an easy victory, but Brady had other plans.
His leadership eventually tied the game at 27-all and part of that run was his 55-yard touchdown pass to Mike Evans.
Unfortunately, Ramsey was the one covering Evans during that play.
The All-Pro cornerback will have another crack at Tampa Bay and he would want to do better this time.
If he can get an interception against Brady, that somehow cancels out the Evans touchdown.
