The Philadelphia Eagles have been kicking butt and taking names this season, and they have been led by quarterback Jalen Hurts.
He has always been effective in gaining yardage himself with his legs, but he has seemingly improved as a passer this season, and with 3,157 passing yards and 686 rushing yards through 13 games, he is en route to setting a new NFL record.
Jalen Hurts is on pace for 4,128 pass yards and 897 rush yards.

The league has seen some great dual-threat quarterbacks, including Lamar Jackson and former Eagle Michael Vick, but neither has ever come close to 4,000 passing yards in a single season.
Hurts Has Blossomed, And So Have The Eagles
In his first two NFL seasons, Hurts was criticized by some as someone who wasn’t reliable at throwing the ball downfield.
He completed just 61.3 percent of his passes last season, his second in the NFL and first as a full-time starter, and many doubted if Philly could compete for the NFC East crown this year.
But the team is now 12-1, and at 14th in passing yards and seventh in passing touchdowns, its air game isn’t too shabby at all.
The addition of wide receiver A.J. Brown, whom they acquired from the Tennessee Titans in the offseason, has helped Hurts take the next step, as Brown has 1,020 yards and 10 touchdowns so far in 2022.
The one knock on Hurts and the Eagles is that they have a lack of wins versus quality teams so far this season, although they did defeat the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 and the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6.
He may very well end up having a special season statistically, but it ultimately won’t mean much without a Vince Lombardi Trophy to go along with it.
