During the offseason, the NBA had gotten sick of the off-the-floor antics of Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant and, as a result, chose to suspend him for the first 25 games of the 2023-24 campaign.
That suspension has proven costly for the Grizzlies, who have struggled all year long without their superstar point guard leading the way for the franchise.
Without Morant, the Grizzlies have won only six games so far this season while already losing 15 games, which has the once-promising young team sitting near the bottom of the Western Conference standings, with only the San Antonio Spurs having a worse record in the conference at 3-18.
Fortunately for Memphis, Morant’s return is imminent, with the 24-year-old taking to Twitter on Monday to give an update on his status.

As Morant points out, he’s only got four games left to serve on his suspension, which will take a little over a week to get to for the Grizzlies.
Morant’s return couldn’t get here soon enough for the Grizzlies, with the team only winning one game at home thus far.
The real question moving forward is whether it is too late for Morant to return and make enough of an impact to turn this team around, as it’s not out of the realm of possibility that the team still struggles even after the return of their superstar.
Injuries have taken a massive toll on this team, with Brandon Clarke still having no timetable for his return from an Achilles injury, while Steven Adams has been ruled out for the season due to knee surgery.
