The Memphis Grizzlies are struggling mightily this season.
Ja Morant’s 25-game suspension put his team in a tough spot, and their countless injuries haven’t done much to help their cause.
However, despite their struggles and their 6-14 record, Desmond Bane has been consistent and efficient on both ends of the floor.
That’s why Morant took to Twitter to give his teammates his flowers, stating that he doesn’t get the praise and recognition he deserves.

Bane is averaging a career-high 25.1 points to go along with 4.5 rebounds, 5.4 assists, 1.4 steals, and 3.3 three-pointers per game on 46/37/86 shooting splits.
He’s made the most of the expanded opportunities without Morant, and after Dillon Brooks’s departure to prove that he was worthy of that big contract extension he got.
Even so, Bane hasn’t been able to prevent his team from free-falling.
They can’t seem to get healthy, and not having their best player on the floor has led to a frustrating season.
Still, it has been a blessing in disguise for Bane, who’s established himself as the second-best player on the team.
Morant is just five games away from making his return, and he’d still have two-thirds of the season to turn the campaign around.
Leading his team to the playoffs after this terrible start to the season would only cement his legacy as one of the best players in today’s game.
Failure to do so, on the other hand, would only raise more questions about his maturity and leadership, as he was the one who put his team against the wall in the first place.
