Last season, Ja Morant faced a plethora of off-court issues, which ultimately played a role in the Memphis Grizzlies superstar facing strict action from the NBA.
Yes, we are talking about none other than Ja Morant receiving a 25-game suspension to start the 2023-24 NBA season for his repeated gun-related incidents on Instagram.
In Morant’s absence, the Grizzlies are playing like shells of themselves and desperately need their All-Star guard to return.
Morant’s 25-game suspension is almost over, and the 24-year-old star shared his thoughts on his imminent return via ClutchPoints on Twitter.
“I’ve been counting down the days. I wake up every day and be like, ‘yeah, one day closer,'” Morant said.

As expected, Ja Morant has been counting days for his much-anticipated return to the NBA.
In Morant’s absence, the Memphis Grizzlies have struggled to win games as they are currently the 13th seed in the Western Conference with a 6-17 record.
With a bare 26.1 winning percentage this season, the Grizzlies are also on a three-game losing streak.
All things considered, the Grizzlies must be more excited for Ja Morant’s return than the star himself.
Last season, Morant averaged 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game for the Grizzlies.
As a result, the franchise finished the regular season as the second seed in the Western Conference with a 51-31 record.
Even though Morant will most likely return for the Memphis Grizzlies’ matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans on December 19, 2023, fans shouldn’t set high expectations for the 2x NBA All-Star.
After all, there is a big possibility that Morant will be rusty after not playing for the first 25 games of the regular season.
