Ever since he made it to the NBA, Ja Morant has become one of the biggest fan favorites, even among his colleagues.
His aggressive style of play reminds us of younger versions of Russell Westbrook and/or Derrick Rose, and that fearless attitude and ruthless mentality turned him into a leader right away.
That’s why so many people were worried about him after he was tangled up in several off-court incidents last season, urging him to stay focused and keep the main thing first.
Notably, that might be the approach he finally takes next season, as he got a new tattoo to honor the late great Kobe Bryant, who’s the ultimate source of inspiration when it comes to hard work (via Nice Kicks, RT NBA).

Morant got a huge tattoo of Kobe’s logo on his back, so it’s only natural that he looks to pay tribute to him by doing what he does best, which is hooping.
Kobe always made sure to outwork every single person in the league by hustling and putting in more effort than everybody else.
That’s the kind of grind and mentality that people want to see from a young leader with an unlimited ceiling, such as Morant.
Morant will miss the first stretch of the season as he serves yet another suspension for his gun-related shenanigans.
He’s still young and is talented enough to stay afloat and salvage his career despite his recent antics.
Bryant’s reputation also suffered a big hit early in his career, and he bounced back to become the legend he is nowadays.
Hopefully, Morant will take a page from his book and not just the logo.
