With quarterback Daniel Jones now in the past tense for the New York Giants, Tommy DeVito has been given the keys to their offense, at least for the time being, as they play out the remaining games this season.
DeVito started six games last season after Jones suffered a torn ACL, and he briefly led the Giants to a three-game winning streak late in the season with some solid play.
Unfortunately for the Giants, DeVito has a forearm issue, which is putting his status for their Thanksgiving Day game against the Dallas Cowboys in doubt.
Insider Art Stapleton posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) that the short rest week and not necessarily the severity of the ailment is what is putting DeVito’s status in doubt.
Sense I get is that if this game were Sunday, this likely would not be an issue and affect DeVito‘s availability. But with the quick turnaround, that’s where the uncertainty comes from regarding if he’ll be ready to go on Thanksgiving. https://t.co/EhlV933jsq

When DeVito took over under center last season and helped the Giants win a few extra games, he took the Tri-state area by storm — he’s a North Jersey native and has Italian ancestry.
At 2-9, the Giants are tied for the worst record in the NFL, which means it should have a real shot at drafting a man who could become their next franchise quarterback.
But in the meantime, DeVito has a shot at endearing himself to Giants fans throughout the New York-New Jersey area for at least a few more minutes.
