The season may not have ended how the Houston Rockets envisioned, but they still have plenty to be happy about.
Writing on X, Fred Katz listed several reasons why the Rockets should be excited about their road ahead.
“Rockets deserve to feel nothing but excellent about their season. Returning to the playoffs w/ 52 wins and an in-your-face competitive culture. They’re loaded with young talent — Thompson, Smith, Eason, Sengun, Green + more. They’ve got draft picks. They’re set up for the future,” Katz wrote.

This was the definition of a turnaround season for the Rockets, even though they were just eliminated from the playoffs by the Golden State Warriors after seven games.
Last year, they didn’t even reach the playoffs, and this year they grabbed the second seed.
After the regular season, there was a lot of speculation about how far the Rockets could go in the postseason.
The second seed is very impressive, but some still felt they wouldn’t go far because they lacked the experience of other teams.
That ended up being the case because the Warriors were able to outplay the Rockets, although they put up a very promising fight.
Many teams have been in this position before: they have a lot of potential but aren’t yet at their peak.
The good news for Rockets fans is that the team has a chance to be even better in the years ahead.
They have climbed in the standings and reached the playoffs, two major achievements.
There is every reason to believe this is just the start of a new era in Houston, and not the end of one.
