The Los Angeles Lakers had arguably the most disappointing offseason in the entire NBA.
They were unable to add more firepower to their already-flawed roster.
Add a first-year coach with no experience at the pro level, and it’s hard to feel excited about this team.
Nevertheless, it seems like the players are quite excited for the upcoming campaign.
According to a report by Jovan Buha of The Athletic, the vibes around the team are at an all-time high (via NBA Central).
“The vibes around the Lakers are at an all-time high. This is my fifth season covering the Lakers and my fifth training camp, and I cannot remember the Lakers having this kind of positive, joyous, and upbeat energy.”

He stated that in his five years covering the Lakers and attending training camp, he had never seen this kind of positive, joyous, and upbeat energy.
Perhaps that has to do with the fact that the players didn’t always seem to be on the same page with Frank Vogel and Darvin Ham, or perhaps they truly feel like they have a chance with JJ Redick leading the way.
Redick was also a player, so he should know how to get to them and motivate them.
He’s well-known for his basketball brain and excelled as an analyst, but with his lack of experience, it’s easy to understand why some people have serious doubts about his ability to turn this team around.
Any team with LeBron James and Anthony Davis will always stand a chance, but it will take way more than that to make a deep postseason run — or even make the playoffs — in the stacked Western Conference.
