One of the few players in this year’s upcoming NFL draft who may have true star potential is Shedeur Sanders, a quarterback from the University of Colorado.
He may not be as attractive a prospect as Jayden Daniels or Caleb Williams were a year ago, but he has some impressive qualities that could embolden the team that takes him in April’s draft.
Insider Benjamin Allbright thinks the New York Giants, who have the No. 3 pick, have their eyes on Sanders.
I think they have their eye on Shedeur Sanders as they go through the process.
We shall see. https://t.co/kMN3QejY4J

Ever since Eli Manning retired following the 2019 season, the Giants have been deep in the wilderness and have suffered from some pretty poor quarterback play.
During that 2019 season, Daniel Jones, then a rookie, seemed to have the potential to be their next franchise signal-caller, but he was never able to duplicate the solid performance he had that year.
Jones was benched this season and subsequently released, creating an opening under center.
Sanders threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns in 2024 for the Buffaloes, but he didn’t play well in their loss in the Alamo Bowl, and he may not quite be the type of can’t-miss prospect the Giants need.
The Giants have a poor offensive line, and while wide receiver Malik Nabers, who was a rookie this season, looks like a star in the making, they may not have the requisite support to allow a potential-laden rookie QB to thrive.
Former Giants star running back Tiki Barber recently said that his former team’s fans shouldn’t obsess over drafting a quarterback, since even great rookie QBs don’t succeed if they walk into a poor situation.
