The 2024 Paris Olympics will play a pivotal role in Team USA’s history at the competition.
A poor run at the FIBA World Cup in 2023 has sparked interest in some top players of the NBA to represent their nation at the 2024 Olympics.
The likes of Kevin Durant, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry are already rumored to gear up for Team USA.
The rumors have seemingly convinced other big-name stars to do the same.
Keeping that in mind, Dallas Mavericks superstar Kyrie Irving is apparently interested in playing for Team USA as well.
Renowned NBA insider Shams Charania revealed the news of Irving’s reported plan to represent Team USA at the Paris Olympics, via “Run It Back.”
“I’m told Kyrie Irving has a deep desire to represent his country, represent the USA in the Paris Olympics this summer, he wants to be part of this team,” Charania said.

Charania reported that Irving has a deep desire to represent his nation at the highly acclaimed event.
Considering Team USA’s roster will feature a plethora of superstars, it’s no surprise that Irving wants to be a part of this team.
In fact, it could lead to Team USA’s best roster since the 2008 Redeem Team.
The 2008 Redeem Team had players like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Dwyane Wade taking charge of the team’s conquest to reclaim glory at the Olympics.
The 2024 roster is expected to enter the competition with a similar goal in mind.
Irving is considered one of the most skilled players in the NBA and his addition to the roster will certainly bolster Team USA’s chances of dominating the competition.
Irving averages 25.4 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game for the Mavericks in the 2023-24 NBA season.
