The New England Patriots are in big need of a wide receiver.
For months, they’ve been tangled up in rumors surrounding Tee Higgins.
The Cincinnati Bengals star showcased his entire repertoire in the big win over the Denver Broncos, hauling in all of Joe Burrow’s three touchdown passes and topping the 100-yard mark.
Nonetheless, as much as the fans should be excited about the opportunity to acquire a player of Higgins’ caliber, Boston Journal insider Mike Giardi had a word of caution for Patriots fans.
He took to X to claim that while the Patriots will be interested in his services, the other four to six teams, all of which are better than the Patriots right now, will also be.
The Patriots will be heavily involved with Tee Higgins assuming he hits free agency. That's the good news. The bad news is so will four to six other teams, and all of them are better than you.

The Patriots, however, could perhaps outbid all other teams, but it’s never a good idea to overpay just because your team isn’t good enough to appeal to a free agent.
This team needs to add a lot of talent in multiple positions.
They need to invest heavily in Drake Maye if they truly believe he’s the one – which seems to be the case – but they cannot spend all of their money on a pass-catcher without someone to protect him.
Barring a major turn of events, the Patriots will most likely be somewhat bad for yet another season.
And whoever signs with them, including Higgins, must be aware of that possibility when they put pen to paper.
We’ve seen exceptions, but for the time being, it’ll be better to stay cautious.
