The Golden State Warriors are barely getting by at this point in the 2023-24 NBA regular season, with the team holding onto the No. 10 spot in the Western Conference, which is just behind the Los Angeles Lakers at No. 9.
Things haven’t gone as planned for the Warriors this season as the team has dealt with numerous injuries as well as seeing Klay Thompson and Andrew Wiggins lose a step or two.
Thompson looks like a shell of his old dominant form, as he’s no longer the defensive threat he once was and struggles to be the offensive juggernaut he was playing alongside superstar guard Stephen Curry in the San Francisco backcourt.
As if Thompson losing a step or two wasn’t bad enough for the Warriors, Wiggins becoming almost a total non-factor for Golden State has made matters that much worse, proving how important he was to this championship-caliber team.
Wiggins was recently away from the team for personal reasons, which also happened last year, but Golden State got some good news on Tuesday that he has returned to the practice facility after dealing with a family matter, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic.

After seemingly being the missing piece to the championship puzzle over the last few years, Wiggins isn’t the same player after dealing with off-the-floor issues, as this year he’s averaging about five points fewer per game in comparison to last season.
In the 51 games he’s played so far this season, Wiggins is averaging a career-low 12.7 points per game, shooting 45.5% from the floor, and 35.1% from beyond the arc.
