The Los Angeles Lakers have gotten off to a strong start to the 2024-25 NBA regular season, with Anthony Davis and company seemingly firing on all cylinders while taking on some tough opponents right out of the gate.
Los Angeles may be coming off a loss to the division-rival Phoenix Suns, with JJ Redick’s squad having no answer for the dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, but the team has won three of their first four games, which is a much better result than anticipated.
After taking on the Suns in Phoenix at the Footprint Center, the Lakers will continue their lengthy road trip on Wednesday night, taking on one of LeBron James’ former teams, the Cleveland Cavaliers, at Rocket Mortage FieldHouse.
Even though the Lakers have only played four games, some of their key players have gotten a bit banged up, namely Austin Reaves, D’Angelo Russell and James, who are all dealing with some ailment heading into this matchup in Cleveland, according to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell.
Lakers status updates for tonight in Cleveland:
– Austin Reaves (left thigh contusion) is available.
D’Angelo Russell (low back soreness) has been upgraded to probable.
LeBron James (illness) is probable.

Despite these three starters dealing with something from a thigh contusion to a sore back and an undisclosed illness, it appears that all three players will play on Wednesday night against a very good Cavaliers team.
Much like the Lakers, the Cavaliers have also had a lot of success to start the 2024-25 campaign, with Cleveland being undefeated ahead of their showdown with Los Angeles.
Along with being a matchup between two teams off to hot starts, James always seems to get fired up to play in his hometown, and this time, he’ll get to do it while playing alongside his son Bronny James.
