The Dallas Cowboys made nine selections during the 2025 NFL Draft without addressing their need for a wide receiver.
The team had their sights set on Tetairoa McMillan, but the Carolina Panthers drafted him four picks before Dallas could make its move.
Despite other receivers being available throughout the draft, the Cowboys decided not to force a pick at the position.
Attention now shifts to potential trades and remaining free agents.
Veterans like Keenan Allen, Nelson Agholor and Robert Woods are still looking for a new team, but a more intriguing possibility reportedly has emerged.

This wouldn’t be the first time the Cowboys have invested heavily in Cooper. Back in 2018, they traded a first-round pick to acquire him from the Oakland Raiders.
Cooper proved his worth with 292 receptions, 3,893 yards and 27 touchdowns in 56 games before being traded to the Cleveland Browns prior to the 2022 season.
While Dallas’ interest appears genuine, any potential reunion would require mutual interest from Cooper.
Last season with Cleveland and the Buffalo Bills, Cooper posted career lows with 44 catches, 547 yards and two touchdowns.
For perspective, those numbers fall slightly behind what Jalen Tolbert produced for the Cowboys (49 receptions, 610 yards, seven touchdowns).
Perhaps most appealing for Dallas, Cooper’s market value likely sits at a reasonable annual value, which could provide an inexpensive option for a team looking to give quarterback Dak Prescott another reliable target.
