Things couldn’t be going much worse for the New York Jets, who had Super Bowl aspirations heading into this season but are sitting at 4-10 after firing head coach Robert Saleh and general manager Joe Douglas, while the future of quarterback Aaron Rodgers is also up in the air.
Things should look much different with this organization next year, and one insider recently revealed how agents are viewing the Jets’ openings heading into the offseason.
Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz appeared on a recent episode of “The Herd” and told Colin Cowherd that even though owner Woody Johnson meddles quite a bit, many agents like the fact that Johnson is willing to hand out longer contracts to coaches and general managers than other franchises do.
Woody Johnson isn’t without his faults, but there’s still a lot to like about the #Jets’ HC and GM gigs — and agents are taking notice…

He also spoke about how this is still viewed as a roster that can compete right now since they have a lot of the key positions locked up and acknowledged that Johnson will give new hires time to develop the roster and staff the way they want.
The appeal of winning in New York is always enticing as well, which Schultz also noted, so this awful Jets season that has included plenty of off-the-field noise has not deterred anybody from potentially coming on board.
Schultz pointed to this roster already having young stars at running back, wide receiver, cornerback, and left tackle, all of which make this an exciting roster despite the unexciting record.
New York has stated it will leave no leaf unturned when undergoing the interview process, and it will be interesting to see who they finally decide to hire.
