The New York Jets have been a comedy of errors this season, as just about everything that possibly could go wrong has gone wrong, to the point where a recent report that owner Woody Johnson was running the team based on Madden video game ratings doesn’t even register on the pain scale at this point.
Fans are still dealing with another recent report that wide receiver Garrett Wilson could request a trade this offseason, and one analyst named the team to watch in a potential move.
“[Houston] Texans would be a team I’d watch, but important to remember control [Jets] have,” Connor Hughes of SNY wrote on X.

Like when Jamal Adams requested/wanted out: Move was only made because Joe Douglas was blown away. They were fully prepared to keep him.

Of course, this is all speculative at this point and the Jets can pick up Wilson’s fifth-year rookie contract option this offseason and keep him tied to the team for another two years, but it’s football, and fans love speculating.
Wilson overlapped with Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud at Ohio State, and given how poorly the Stefon Diggs trade has gone for Houston, Wilson would be a welcomed addition to an offense that could use another receiver.
Wilson is 24 years old, hasn’t missed a game in the NFL and is set to surpass 1,000 yards for a third consecutive season to begin his career.
Every team in the league would love to have him, but it remains to be seen if this trade speculation holds any validity.
