Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill shocked the team’s fans right after its final regular season game when he made a comment that heavily implied he wanted to be traded.
He later walked back that comment, but his future with Miami is still in question as the official start of the NFL’s free agency period approaches.
Cameron Wolfe reported that the Dolphins are open to keeping him but that a trade is still a possibility.
“The Dolphins have certainly talked with him and they’re open to keeping him back, but I’ve not talked with anybody with the team who said 100 percent certain they will not trade him.”
Dolphins not expected to put the franchise tag on safety Jevón Holland putting him on track to test free agency as top player at his position, barring any surprises.

Hill is widely considered one of the five best wide receivers in the NFL, but this year, his production was down, as he mustered a mere 959 yards and six touchdowns, and his 11.8 yards per reception was down from 15.1 yards per catch a year ago.
He will turn 31 years of age on March 1, which makes one wonder how much high-level football he has left in him, but if he is to be traded, a number of teams will surely line up for his services.
Miami had a frustrating 2024 campaign, chiefly due to the third diagnosed concussion of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa’s pro career that forced him to miss four games.
They struggled mightily on offense without him, and his absence likely played a sizable role in Hill’s depressed production.
Hill, who was traded by the Kansas City Chiefs to Miami in a stunning deal following the 2021 season, has two years remaining on his current contract.
