The Miami Dolphins need to make some big changes this offseason to break their recent trend of being good but not great, and that will involve making tough decisions on both sides of the ball.
A few of those decisions were made on Friday, which included the release of one of the team’s most notable veteran defenders.
The team announced that after just one season, veteran cornerback Kendall Fuller is being released.

Fuller appeared in 11 games for the Dolphins in 2024 and recorded 50 tackles, seven pass deflections, and no interceptions.
Fuller had picked off ten passes over his previous four years with the Washington Commanders, but he failed to provide that same sort of big-play ability during his time with the Dolphins and will now hit free agency heading into his age-30 season.
Miami had a top-10 scoring defense this past year and only surrendered 21.4 points per game.
The Dolphins also ranked ninth with just 210.6 passing yards allowed per game, but they recorded the tenth-fewest interceptions in the NFL with ten, which could have contributed to Fuller’s release as the team will look to generate more takeaways on defense next year.
Running back Raheem Mostert and tight end Durham Smythe were also released alongside Fuller as the team will aim to get a bit younger.
Fuller started all 11 games he played this past season and has been one of the more reliable veteran corners in the league in recent years, so he’ll certainly have a market for his services while the Dolphins will likely aim to replace him on draft day.
