The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
That is not something we have seen happen since the New England Patriots repeated in the 2003 and 2004 seasons.
But, the Chiefs have everything in place to pull off the repeat.
Star quarterback Patrick Mahomes is still under center along with his top target Travis Kelce at tight end, while head coach Andy Reid continues to call the offense.
But one player who is not in training camp is defensive tackle Chris Jones.
Jones is one of the best players in football and is coming off a season where he finished third in Defensive Player of the Year voting.
Now he wants to be paid like one of the game’s best.
He remains in a holdout despite the Chiefs having offered him a big contract extension.
Ian Rapoport said on the “Pat McAfee Show” that the offer Jones received was not good enough.
"The Chiefs have made a big offer to Chris Jones but obviously it's not big enough..
I don't know if he's shooting to be above Aaron Donald but I think that's the ballpark we're in"@RapSheet #PMSLive pic.twitter.com/1WoJJPXiUf

It will be a surprise if Jones is not on the field by the time Week 1 rolls around.
The Chiefs have never been shy to get deals done with their best players and this should be no different.
If the Chiefs have a weakness it would be on their defense.
Not having their best player on the field could mean trouble.
The NFL has always been and will always be a business first.
Jones deserves to hold out until he feels he is being paid accordingly.
Now the ball is in the Chiefs’ court as they must increase their offer.
