The Pittsburgh Steelers have had a resurgent 2024 season.
With a record of 10-4, they are sitting in first place in the AFC North and are on the cusp of locking up the division.
The Steelers are 6-2 with Russell Wilson at quarterback, and they could be prompted to give the Super Bowl champion a new contract this offseason.
“I think they believe they have found that solution with Russell Wilson. … There is a very good chance that the Steelers extend Russell Wilson similarly to what Tampa [Bay] did with Baker Mayfield, which was three years, $100 million,” FOX Sports insider Justin Schultz said on “The Herd.”

Wilson has fit in very well since he took over from Justin Fields as the starter earlier in the season.
The nine-time Pro Bowler has thrown 13 touchdowns and just three interceptions while posting a passer rating of 103.0 through his eight games.
If Pittsburgh were to go on a magical playoff run this season, an extension for Wilson certainly could be on the table.
After all, the team finally has some good quarterback play for the first time since Ben Roethlisberger retired.
Up next for Wilson and the Steelers is the arch-rival Baltimore Ravens, who are looking to stay alive in the race for the division.
Wilson got the better of Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson when the teams met in Week 11.
It will be fascinating to see what changes both sides have made since that matchup, especially on offense, considering neither team scored 20 points.
