After the Indianapolis Colts and star running back Jonathan Taylor were unable to get a trade done before their self-imposed deadline, it was all quiet on the trade front for arguably one of the best backs in the NFL despite interest from the Green Bay Packers and Miami Dolphins.
Although it seemed as though Taylor would miss the first few games of the 2023 NFL season, that might no longer be the case as he is reportedly healthy and ready to take a physical.
Apparently, once he takes and passes his physical, trade talks can resume, with the Dolphins looking like the team that the Colts will engage with at that time, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network via Dov Kleiman of BroBible.
Interestingly enough, Rapoport also hints at Taylor potentially returning to the Colts but admits it’s only a small chance, as he seems to have his mind set on playing elsewhere.

With the Colts likely interested in moving on from Taylor sooner rather than later and wanting to be compensated in a trade, it’ll be interesting to see where things go from here and if the elite back is suiting up for another team in the coming weeks.
The Dolphins have always been the favorite to land Taylor, especially after being unable to sign Dalvin Cook, so it seems more likely than not that he will end up in Miami with Tua Tagovailoa and company.
However, the Packers may give it one last shot to see if they can bring him in and bolster their backfield.
