With the NFL season just around the corner, football is on everyone’s mind right now.
Even athletes from other sports can’t help but chip in and share their thoughts ahead of the start of the upcoming season, and that includes Boston Celtics legend Paul Pierce.
In the latest edition of KG Certified, Pierce and Kevin Garnett talked about the AFC East and how it’ll be one of the most competitive divisions in football next season.
While Garnett claimed that all four teams could make the playoffs, Pierce wasn’t so sure about the Dolphins (via NBA Central).

The duo of Celtics legends even bet dinner on whether the Dolphins would or wouldn’t make the playoffs, with Garnett making it clear that this year’s Dolphins team is much better than the Patriots’.
Garnett told Pierce not to bet with his heart, knowing that he’s not much of a fan of Miami and has become a radical supporter of Boston’s teams, but Pierce didn’t listen and reminded him that Bill Belichick is still there doing his thing.
Pierce also talked about the Patriots getting Ezekiel Elliott as a factor, so chances are he hasn’t been keeping tabs on football as closely as one would think.
This is spot on for Pierce, though.
Ever since retiring, he’s had his fair share of hot takes, and he’s more than willing to stick by them.
Now, he might have to pay for a big-time dinner, as the Dolphins will more than likely be a playoff team.
