For the past six seasons, Dalvin Cook has been the heart and soul of the Minnesota Vikings.
He established himself as their lead back and has achieved over 1,000 yards in each of the past four seasons.
Despite his on-field brilliance, the current state of the NFL‘s running back market is unfavorable, and marquee backs have been released.
Fans have expressed frustration with their favorite organizations, but nothing has been done about this situation.
In a recent segment on the Pat McAfee Show, Adam Schefter discussed the latest regarding Cook.
“If he doesn’t play this year, he gets two million dollars,” Schefter said.
"If Dalvin Cook doesn't play this year he gets $2M..

Schefter also said that “every day, the running back situation continues to evolve.”
Jonathan Taylor is in the midst of his battle with the Indianapolis Colts, and several others in the position face similar struggles.
Cook has already been on a visit with the New York Jets and has been tied to the Miami Dolphins.
His veteran presence could provide great value to either one of those organizations.
For the Jets, Breece Hall is recovering from a serious injury, and the Dolphins are looking for depth at the position.
Cook remains unsigned despite the NFL season being slightly more than one month away.
As Schefter illustrated, he isn’t in a rush to get a deal done, especially seeing he’s due $2 million this year, no matter what.
Will he continue to hold out for the best possible deal?
Or, to make sure he plays this year, will Cook get a deal done soon?
