The Kansas City Chiefs are still without Chris Jones, as the two sides have yet to strike a revised deal.
Jones has not reported to camp and recently indicated that he’s willing to sit out until Week 8 of the regular season.
As Ari Meirov has recently highlighted, Jones is losing $50,000 per day by missing training camp and will lose over $1 million per week during the regular season.
Chris Jones is accepting a fine of $50,000 for each day he remains aways from #Chiefs training camp. His fines have already exceeded $1M, and according to the CBA, the fines are unwaivable.

As Meirov also indicates, these fines cannot be waived, and Jones will be forced to pay them.
If this negotiation were over his rookie deal, the situation would have been different as those fines can be waived.
At the moment, neither side is willing to budge on their stance.
Jones is still under contract for the 2023 season, but his future with the Chiefs is undetermined.
The organization has made it abundantly clear that Jones is a large part of their defense, a player they’d like to keep around.
However, they’ve also shown that any tactics to speed up a deal will not be met by a proportional response.
While Jones is a top player in his position, the Chiefs appear to believe they can win without him.
With less than three weeks to go until the regular season begins, the Chiefs have to figure out a backup plan.
The good news is that they’ve been without Jones during training camp, so they know what they have behind him on the depth chart.
Chiefs fans are waiting anxiously to hear the fate of the franchise star.
